Our team develops deep expertise within the areas our clients care about most, then builds data analytics systems that create impact at scale. We work closely with internal government innovation groups, and build on the analytics methodology pioneered in e-commerce, advocacy, politics, and consumer finance. You will work on a fast-paced, impact-driven project team charged with intelligently improving the operations powering the policies and programs that hundreds of millions of Americans interact with on a daily basis. Our work builds the frameworks and infrastructure that allows agencies to deal with big public health challenges. We bring definition to challenging problems, creatively identify data sources, then design analytics that accurately measure impact and move the needle every day. We work in changing, ambiguous environments, so we embrace nuance, inclusivity, and complexity to deliver programs that work for the diverse groups of individuals who rely on us. **About the role:** As a Frontend Engineer on our Civic Tech team, you will contribute your technical expertise to our government client programs within their Information Technology office. You will work closely with a team of analysts, engineers, and program leads to execute front-end changes to a user-facing expenditure reporting tool which stakeholders use to support their mission-critical programs. This position reports to the Program Manager.  **In this position you will:** - Implement new features to a user interface that reports financial expenditures to our client’s internal customers. - Use Javascript, React, and Redux on the frontend, and communicate with a Python Flask app on the backend. - Refactor components on a user interface codebase using Javascript - Collaborate with a team of other engineers, user experience designers, and our client to scope, develop, and implement user interface changes. - Help develop a codebase testing process that gives our team holistic insight into the impact of specific code changes. - Perform such other reasonable tasks as may be assigned by management.  **What we are seeking:** - Experience with React, including hooks, Redux, node requests, and modern testing frameworks including jest - Ability to design, develop, modify, implement, and support frontend software components and understand how they communicate with an application’s backend. - Passion for social impact in a data and technology space - In order to be qualified for this position you must currently have or be able to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust security clearance, which includes a requirement of either US Citizenship or three (3) of five (5) years of US residency **You may also have experience:** - Worked with cloud infrastructure services like AWS - Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform - Developing solutions in collaboration with input from both an internal team and key client stakeholders - Working with a government client  **What recruitment looks like:** We strive to hire efficiently and transparently. We expect to hire this position by mid-June 2022.
