We're looking for a motivated and diligent Product Designer to help Oxwash make washing clothes sexy, building the first truly sustainable on-demand laundry and wet cleaning service in the world. You'll play a part in shipping web products that support our whole portfolio of customers, from personal users to the biggest brands in circular fashion. Reporting to our Product Manager, you'll have autonomy over the digital product design process from discovery to launch, collaborating deeply with our engineers to ship your designs. This is a T-shaped role; you'll combine strong skills in UI/UX design with everything from business, user research, analytics and user testing, to IXD and motion. ### Your Responsibilities - Build and maintain our atomic design system to ensure consistency across our channels, liaising with engineering to map developed atoms, molecules and components. - Design new components and pages to support new features in the product roadmap. In the near future these might include: subscription and order management tools; a shiny new catalogue; and dashboards for our B2B partners. - Conduct usability tests and translate data into insights, understanding how users are interacting with our digital products. - Rapidly create wireframes, high-fidelity designs and prototypes to enable the team to test and validates hypotheses as quickly as possible. The ideal candidate is a design generalist with 2+ years' experience, whose strength is in UI design and has previously been part of a team that has taken a design system from 0 to 1. We are particularly interested in UI/UX designers looking to make the transition into Product Design. _This role is remote-first and you are welcome to work from home or in the office. There is a flexible expectation to attend in person for 1-2 days per fortnight to touch base with the team and communicate with our users and stakeholders._ Requirements ### Experience - Strong UI design skills and evidence of experience, whether that's through past jobs or education, demonstrated through your portfolio. You'll be familiar with tools such as Figma, Sketch/Illustrator and After Effects. - Previous experience working with design systems. - Knowledge of a design thinking process (e.g Double Design) and Agile principles. ### Key Qualities - Entrepreneurial: You're comfortable taking something from 0 to 1, continuously iterating to produce designs that our users love. You are able to understand the strategic context, balancing the needs of stakeholders with the direction of our business. - Creative: You ideate creative solutions to sometimes difficult problems and channel that creativity into your design work. - Strong Communicator: You can coax information out of others and are a natural negotiator, able to delicately navigate difficult conversations but not afraid to take a hard line. - Analytical: You have an affinity for data and can use it to drive your decision making. - Principled: You hold a set of values that drive the choices you make on a daily basis. You care deeply about our world and are passionate about building healthy relationships in an inclusive work environment. Benefits - A salary of £30,000 to £40,000 dependent on experience, plus EMI share options. - 30 days of holiday, plus your birthday off too! - Help transform the world in a high-impact, well-funded and fast-growing startup. - Regular reviews and support in reaching your development goals. - On-demand mental health support through Spill. - Free laundry! No more pairing socks in your spare time... - A choice of tech packages to choose from, to support you in performing to the best of your abilities. - The opportunity to purchase a bike through salary sacrifice.
